These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding contract between you ("User", "you", "your") and RentVeed, operated by the RentVeed team ("RentVeed", "Company", "we", "us", "our"), governing your access to and use of the RentVeed mobile application, web application available at rentveed.com, all related websites, APIs, tools, content, and services (collectively, the "Service" or "Platform").
By taking any of the following actions, you expressly agree to these Terms in their entirety: (a) creating a RentVeed account; (b) accessing or using any part of the Service; (c) clicking "Sign Up", "Continue", "I Agree", or any similar button; (d) downloading, installing, or running the RentVeed application on any device; (e) continuing to use the Service after a notice of updated Terms has been posted.
These Terms apply regardless of how you access the Service — whether on a smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop computer, or any other device — and regardless of whether you are a registered user or a guest visitor browsing without an account.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, organisation, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, in which case "you" and "your" refer to that entity. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and any other policies, guidelines, or supplemental terms posted on the Platform, all of which form part of this Agreement.
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to create an account, post a listing, purchase Coins or an Access Pass, enter into any rental or service agreement facilitated through the Platform, or use any feature of the Service that involves personal data, payments, or binding commitments. If you are between thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) years of age, you may browse publicly available content only under parental supervision, but you may not create an account, post listings, purchase anything, or contact other users. The Service is strictly prohibited for children under thirteen (13) years of age.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms; (c) you are not barred from receiving services under the laws of Cameroon or any other applicable jurisdiction; and (d) you will comply with all Applicable Law in connection with your use of the Service.
You may not use the Service if you have previously been suspended, banned, or had your account terminated by RentVeed for a violation of these Terms, unless you have received express written permission from RentVeed to create a new account. Attempting to circumvent a ban by creating a new account, using a different device, or using another person's account is a serious violation of these Terms and may result in legal action.
Real estate agencies, property management companies, and other legal entities may use the Service provided they: (a) designate an authorised representative who accepts these Terms on the entity's behalf; (b) ensure all employees and agents who access the account comply with these Terms; and (c) remain fully responsible for all activity conducted through their account.
To access most features of the Service, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information, including a valid email address and a display name. You must promptly update your account information if it changes. Providing false, misleading, or outdated information is a violation of these Terms.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials (username, password, and any other authentication information). You must not share your credentials with any other person or allow any third party to access your account. RentVeed will never ask for your password via email, in-app chat, or any other communication. If you receive such a request, it is fraudulent and you should report it to us immediately.
You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it. If you suspect your account has been compromised, accessed without authorisation, or that your credentials have been stolen, you must: (a) immediately change your password; (b) notify RentVeed at support@rentveed.com; and (c) take all other reasonable steps to secure your account. RentVeed shall not be liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account where you failed to take adequate security precautions or failed to notify us promptly.
Each individual may only maintain one personal account. Creating multiple accounts for the same person — whether to circumvent a ban, manipulate the Coins reward system, boost your own listings fraudulently, or for any other purpose — is strictly prohibited. RentVeed reserves the right to merge, disable, or permanently ban any duplicate accounts and withhold any Coins or credits associated with them.
Your account is personal to you and may not be transferred, sold, assigned, or gifted to any other person, with or without consideration. Any purported transfer is void and may result in termination of both accounts involved.
If you choose to sign in using Google, you authorise RentVeed to access certain information from your Google account (such as your name, email address, and profile photo) in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You remain bound by Google's terms of service with respect to your Google account itself.
RentVeed is a technology platform and online marketplace that enables: (a) landlords, property owners, and real estate agents to list rental properties with video and photo content; (b) prospective tenants and renters to discover, explore, and express interest in available rental properties; (c) individuals and businesses to list and discover local professional services (such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other trades) via the Hire section; and (d) users to engage with a community of renters and property professionals across Cameroon.
RentVeed is a listing and connection platform only. We do not own, manage, operate, let, or control any of the properties listed on the Platform. We are not a real estate agent, broker, property manager, or estate agent under Cameroonian or any other law. We do not act as a party to any rental agreement, lease, deposit arrangement, or service contract between users. We do not verify the authenticity, accuracy, safety, or legality of any listing or any user's claimed identity. Any rental or service agreement you enter into with another user is solely between you and that user; RentVeed is not a party to it in any way.
We strive to provide continuous access to the Service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, error-free, or uninterrupted. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service or any part of it at any time for maintenance, security reasons, legal compliance, business changes, or any other reason, without prior notice and without liability to you.
We reserve the right at any time, without prior notice, to: (a) modify, add, or remove any feature or functionality of the Service; (b) change the Coin pricing, Access Pass pricing, or reward amounts; (c) discontinue any product, feature, or promotion; or (d) change the geographic availability of the Service. Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
Every listing posted on RentVeed must accurately and completely describe the property being advertised. You must not misrepresent the location, size, features, condition, price, availability, or any other material characteristic of the property. Listings that contain false, exaggerated, or misleading information may be removed at any time and may result in account suspension or ban.
By posting a listing, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are the owner of the property, or you have been expressly authorised by the property owner to list it; (b) the property is legally available for rent under Cameroonian law; (c) you have the right to enter into a rental arrangement with a prospective tenant; and (d) the listing does not violate any third party's rights, including without limitation any intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, or privacy rights.
Any phone number, WhatsApp number, or email address you include in a listing must belong to you or be under your authorised control. Publishing another person's contact information without their express consent is strictly prohibited and may expose you to legal liability under Applicable Law.
The following types of listings are strictly prohibited and will be removed:
All pricing displayed in listings must be accurate, inclusive of any fees the landlord charges to the tenant, and denominated in XAF (Central African CFA franc) unless RentVeed expressly permits other currencies. You must not advertise a price lower than what you actually charge in order to attract inquiries, then reveal a higher price (commonly known as "bait and switch"). Deceptive pricing is prohibited and will result in listing removal and possible account action.
Videos posted in listings must: (a) genuinely depict the property being advertised; (b) not include any copyrighted music, film clips, or other content you do not have the right to use; (c) not include any advertisements for competing platforms or services; and (d) comply with all content requirements in Section 10 and Section 11.
RentVeed reserves the right, but not the obligation, to review, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse to publish any listing that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe may harm users, third parties, or RentVeed's reputation. Moderation decisions are made at RentVeed's sole discretion and are not subject to appeal except as expressly provided by RentVeed from time to time.
The "Hire" section of RentVeed allows individual tradespeople and service providers (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, welders, cleaners, and other professionals) to list their services for discovery by users. Like the property marketplace, RentVeed acts only as a connection platform between service providers and customers. RentVeed is not a party to any service agreement, does not employ any service providers, and does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any service offered.
Any user who lists a service on the Platform represents and warrants that: (a) they possess all necessary licences, certifications, permits, and qualifications required by Applicable Law to perform the services offered; (b) all information in their service listing is accurate and not misleading; (c) they carry appropriate insurance coverage for their trade or profession; and (d) they will perform services to a professional standard and in compliance with all Applicable Law.
Users who engage a service provider found through RentVeed do so at their own risk. Before engaging any service provider, you should conduct your own verification of the provider's qualifications, identity, and reputation. RentVeed does not vet, background-check, or certify any service provider listed on the Platform.
Any dispute between a customer and a service provider arising from a transaction or service engagement found through RentVeed is a matter solely between those parties. RentVeed provides no mediation, arbitration, or dispute resolution for such disputes and has no liability for the outcome of any dispute or for any damage, loss, or injury arising from a service performed by a provider found through the Platform.
RentVeed uses a virtual in-app currency called "Coins" to enable certain actions on the Platform, including but not limited to: posting a listing, boosting a listing's visibility, purchasing an Access Pass, and unlocking contact details for landlords and agents. Coins are a virtual item with no monetary value outside the Platform. They cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or used outside of RentVeed under any circumstances.
Coins may be earned through: (a) the new-user reward upon account creation (subject to eligibility requirements, including device-based limits to prevent abuse); (b) referral programmes that RentVeed may offer from time to time; or (c) other promotions or rewards activities at RentVeed's sole discretion. RentVeed reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any reward programme at any time without notice. Coins earned through fraudulent means (including creating multiple accounts to claim multiple sign-up bonuses) will be revoked without notice, and the account(s) involved may be permanently banned.
Coins may be purchased within the application using mobile money (MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money) or card payment, processed by our payment partner NotchPay. All coin purchases are subject to the pricing displayed in the app at the time of purchase, which may change without prior notice. By completing a purchase, you agree to NotchPay's and your mobile money or card provider's own terms and conditions. Payment transactions are processed by NotchPay and are subject to their applicable fees and exchange rate policies.
The RentVeed Access Pass is a premium subscription product that may be available for purchase within the Platform. By purchasing an Access Pass, you gain access to enhanced features for the duration of the subscription period. The specific features, pricing, and duration of the Access Pass are as displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may be modified by RentVeed at any time, with changes taking effect at the next renewal or within a reasonable notice period. The Access Pass does not confer any intellectual property rights, ownership, or entitlement to features beyond those expressly described at the time of purchase.
You are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, and governmental charges applicable to your purchase of Coins, an Access Pass, or any other paid item through the Service. If RentVeed is required by Applicable Law to collect or withhold taxes on any transaction, the applicable amount will be added to your payment.
RentVeed reserves the right to change the price of Coins, the Access Pass, or any other paid feature at any time. Price changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or by posting a notice on the Platform prior to taking effect. Your continued purchase or use of paid features after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
RentVeed offers each user a unique referral code that may be shared with others, accessible from the "Invite Friends" screen in your profile. If a new user enters your referral code when creating their account, you are credited with a Coins reward — currently 5 Coins per successful referral, though this amount may change as described in Section 8.6. A referral reward is credited automatically and at most once per new account, regardless of how many times a code is entered, resubmitted, or reused. You cannot refer yourself, and referral rewards obtained through fraudulent means (including fake accounts, self-referral, or device farming) will be revoked, with the account(s) involved subject to suspension or permanent ban under Section 12.
All purchases of Coins, Access Passes, and any other paid features are final and non-refundable, except where required by Applicable Law. Because Coins are virtual items that are consumed upon use, and because the Access Pass grants immediate access to premium features upon purchase, we do not provide refunds except in the limited circumstances described below.
We may consider a refund request, in our sole discretion, in the following limited circumstances only: (a) you were charged twice for the same purchase due to a technical error on our Platform (not due to an error on the part of your bank or mobile money provider); (b) you purchased Coins or an Access Pass but were immediately prevented from accessing any features due to a verified Platform outage on our end; or (c) Applicable Law in your jurisdiction requires a cooling-off period or mandatory right of withdrawal, in which case refunds will be processed in accordance with such law.
To request a refund, you must contact us at support@rentveed.com within seven (7) calendar days of the date of purchase, providing your account email, the approximate time of purchase, and the amount charged. Refund requests submitted after this period will not be considered. RentVeed will respond to refund requests within fourteen (14) business days.
If you initiate a chargeback or dispute with your payment provider or bank for a charge that RentVeed believes to be valid under these Terms, we reserve the right to: (a) immediately suspend or terminate your account; (b) revoke any Coins or Access Pass benefits obtained through the disputed charge; and (c) pursue collection of the disputed amount through any available legal means. A history of chargebacks may result in permanent denial of access to the Service.
You retain ownership of any Content that you create and upload to the Service, subject to the licence you grant us in Section 10.2. RentVeed claims no ownership over your original Content.
By uploading, posting, submitting, or otherwise making available any Content through the Service, you grant RentVeed a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, communicate, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, and distribute your Content in connection with: (a) operating and providing the Service; (b) promoting and marketing the Service (including on social media, in advertising, and in press materials); and (c) improving and developing new features. This licence continues for as long as your Content remains on the Platform, and for a commercially reasonable period thereafter to the extent necessary to complete removal from backup systems and cached locations.
By submitting Content to the Service, you represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have obtained all necessary rights, licences, consents, and permissions to submit the Content and to grant the licence in Section 10.2; (b) the Content does not infringe any intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other rights of any third party; (c) the Content is accurate and does not contain any false or misleading information; (d) the Content does not contain any material that violates Applicable Law; and (e) if the Content includes images or videos of other persons, you have obtained their written consent.
You are solely responsible for the Content you submit to the Platform and for any consequences arising from that Content. RentVeed is not responsible for Content submitted by users and does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted Content. RentVeed shall not be liable to any user or third party for any harm, loss, or damage arising from reliance on user-submitted Content.
RentVeed has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, flag, remove, refuse to publish, or edit any Content that, in RentVeed's sole judgment, violates these Terms, is potentially harmful to users or third parties, or is objectionable for any reason. Moderation does not make us responsible for user Content and does not create any liability for failing to identify or remove Content that should have been removed.
The Service allows users to submit a one-to-five star rating for another user's account after interacting with their listings or service profile. By submitting a rating, you represent that it reflects your genuine, good-faith assessment. You may not manipulate ratings by using multiple accounts, coordinating with others to inflate or deflate a rating, or rating an account you have no genuine basis to assess. RentVeed reserves the right to remove or adjust any rating, and to suspend accounts found to be manipulating the ratings system. Each user may submit only one rating per account they choose to rate; a subsequent rating from the same user replaces the earlier one rather than being counted twice. You cannot rate your own account.
You may optionally add a short public biography to your profile. Your bio is Content for the purposes of this Section 10 and is subject to the same ownership, licence, representations, responsibility, and moderation terms as any other Content you submit. Do not include sensitive personal information, contact details you do not wish to be public, or content that violates Section 11 (Acceptable Use) in your bio.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. The following conduct is strictly prohibited. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive; RentVeed may take action against any conduct it deems harmful, abusive, or contrary to the spirit of these Terms.
Engaging in any prohibited conduct may result in one or more of the following actions at RentVeed's sole discretion: a warning; temporary suspension of your account; permanent ban of your account (and all associated accounts); removal of your Content from the Platform; withholding or forfeiture of your Coins; referral to law enforcement; and/or civil legal action. RentVeed reserves the right to report any illegal activity to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
RentVeed may suspend or permanently ban your account for any of the following reasons (this list is not exhaustive):
Depending on the severity of the violation, RentVeed may issue: (a) a temporary suspension, during which you cannot access some or all Platform features for a defined period; or (b) a permanent ban, which constitutes the immediate, irreversible termination of your account and all access to the Service. Serious violations (including fraud, scamming, posting illegal content, or circumventing a prior ban) will typically result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
Upon permanent ban: (a) your account and all associated Content may be deleted; (b) any remaining Coins or Access Pass subscription will be forfeited without refund; (c) your device identifier may be recorded to prevent future account creation; and (d) any listings you posted may be removed. You agree that you will not attempt to create a new account, use another person's account, or use a different device to access the Service following a permanent ban. Such circumvention will be treated as a further violation and may result in legal action.
If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you may submit an appeal to support@rentveed.com within fourteen (14) calendar days of the suspension or ban. Appeals must include your registered email address, a clear explanation of why you believe the action was taken in error, and any relevant evidence. RentVeed will review your appeal in good faith but its decision shall be final and binding. We do not guarantee a specific response timeline for appeals. Bans issued for fraud, scamming, illegal content, or child safety violations are generally not eligible for appeal.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at support@rentveed.com. Upon receiving your verified deletion request, we will: (a) deactivate your account; (b) remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any Applicable Law retention obligations; and (c) remove your active listings from the Platform. Deletion of your account does not entitle you to any refund of Coins or access pass fees. Deletion requests may take up to thirty (30) calendar days to process fully.
The Service and all of its components — including but not limited to the RentVeed name, logo, brand identity, visual design, user interface, source code, algorithms, databases, domain names, and all proprietary technology — are owned by RentVeed or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property ownership to you.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, RentVeed grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to: (a) download and install the RentVeed mobile application on devices you own or control; (b) access and use the Service for its intended purpose as a personal, non-commercial end user. This licence does not include the right to: copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, or sublicense any part of the Service; reverse engineer or decompile the Service; use any automated tools to access the Service; or use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by RentVeed in writing.
"RentVeed" and all associated logos, product names, and slogans are trademarks or service marks of RentVeed. You may not use any of these marks in any manner likely to cause confusion with customers, in any way that disparages or discredits RentVeed, or for any commercial purpose, without the prior written permission of RentVeed.
If you submit any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or improvements regarding the Service to RentVeed, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, disclose, reproduce, and incorporate such feedback into the Service without any obligation to compensate you.
RentVeed respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all users to do the same. If you believe that Content on the Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notification to us at support@rentveed.com.
A valid copyright takedown notice must include: (a) an electronic or physical signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner; (b) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (c) identification of the Content on the Platform that is alleged to be infringing, with enough information for us to locate it; (d) your contact information (address, telephone number, and email); (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the Content is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or by law; and (f) a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
RentVeed will terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances, as required by applicable copyright law.
RentVeed's collection, use, and sharing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy. You agree that we may process your personal data in the manner described in the Privacy Policy, including processing for account management, fraud prevention, service improvement, and communications.
You acknowledge that the internet is not a completely secure environment and that, despite our security measures, there is always some risk that your data may be intercepted in transit. RentVeed shall not be liable for any interception or compromise of personal data that occurs outside of our reasonable control.
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services, including Supabase (database and authentication), Firebase (push notifications), NotchPay (payments), Cloudflare (CDN and storage), Google (maps and sign-in), and WhatsApp (community channel). Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service's own terms of service and privacy policy. RentVeed is not responsible for the privacy practices, data handling, security, or conduct of any third-party service provider.
The Service may contain links to external websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement by RentVeed of the content or services available at those sites. RentVeed has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. You access all such external links at your own risk.
RentVeed operates an official WhatsApp community channel. Participation in the WhatsApp community is subject to WhatsApp's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. RentVeed is not responsible for the content shared by members of the community, for any technical issues with WhatsApp, or for any harm arising from your participation in the community.
You may opt in to receive push notifications from RentVeed. If you opt in, we may send you notifications about new listings, account activity, promotions, and other Service-related information. You can withdraw your consent to receive push notifications at any time through your device settings or through the RentVeed app settings.
By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional emails from RentVeed, including account verification, password reset, and important account notices. These emails are required for the proper functioning of your account and cannot be opted out of while your account remains active. You may opt out of promotional or marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in such emails.
Any communication between users facilitated by the Platform (such as through contact details shared in listings) is entirely at your own risk. RentVeed does not monitor private communications between users and is not responsible for the content of such communications. If another user sends you an abusive, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate message, you should report it to us at support@rentveed.com.
RentVeed does not independently verify the accuracy of any listing, the identity of any user, the existence or condition of any property, the legitimacy of any landlord or agent, or the availability of any property at the time you contact the landlord. You are solely responsible for conducting your own due diligence before visiting any property, paying any deposit, or entering into any rental agreement.
For your own safety, we strongly recommend that you: (a) visit any property in person before paying any money; (b) never pay a deposit or rent without first seeing the property and confirming the landlord's identity; (c) be wary of any landlord who insists on payment before viewing or who asks for payment via wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or any method that is not easily traceable; (d) trust your instincts — if an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is; and (e) report any suspicious listings or users to us immediately.
Any rental agreement you enter into with a landlord or agent is a legal contract between you and that party alone. RentVeed is not a party to any such agreement, does not provide legal advice, and recommends that you seek independent legal advice before signing any lease or rental agreement. RentVeed accepts no liability for any dispute, financial loss, physical harm, or other consequence arising from any rental agreement or transaction between users.
Meeting strangers in person always carries some risk. We encourage you to: take a friend or trusted person when viewing a property; share your location and visit schedule with someone you trust; meet in a public place if possible before going to a private property; and contact local authorities if you feel unsafe at any time. RentVeed shall not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, theft, or other physical harm arising from any in-person meeting facilitated through the Platform.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RENTVEED AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE MINIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RENTVEED, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, ANY CONTENT OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE, OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF RENTVEED HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN ANY CASE, RENTVEED'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR ANY INABILITY TO USE ANY PORTION OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO RENTVEED IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) FIVE THOUSAND CENTRAL AFRICAN CFA FRANCS (XAF 5,000).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RentVeed and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, partners, suppliers, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and court costs) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of or access to the Service; (b) your breach or alleged breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any Applicable Law, regulation, or third-party right; (d) any Content you submit to the Platform; (e) any fraud, misrepresentation, or illegal activity by you; (f) any dispute between you and another user of the Service; or (g) any damage or loss caused to a third party by your actions on or through the Platform.
RentVeed reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to your indemnification obligation, in which case you agree to cooperate fully with RentVeed's defence of such matter. You may not settle any claim that imposes any obligation, restriction, or liability on RentVeed without RentVeed's prior written consent.
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. To the extent that international or supranational regulations (such as GDPR for users in the European Union) confer mandatory rights upon you, those rights are preserved; however, Cameroonian law shall govern in all other respects.
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@rentveed.com to describe the nature of your dispute and attempt to resolve it informally. We will use good-faith efforts to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) calendar days of receiving your written notice. If the dispute is not resolved informally within that period, either party may proceed to formal dispute resolution as described below.
Subject to the informal dispute resolution obligation above, you agree that any legal action or proceeding arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Yaoundé, Cameroon, and you hereby irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Notwithstanding the foregoing, RentVeed reserves the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction anywhere in the world to prevent irreparable harm to its intellectual property rights or other interests.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AND RENTVEED EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS ACTION, COLLECTIVE ACTION, REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, OR PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION IN ANY COURT OR OTHER PROCEEDING. Any dispute must be brought on an individual basis only. If Applicable Law renders this waiver unenforceable, the class action shall be severed from these Terms and the remaining provisions shall continue to apply.
RentVeed shall not be liable to you for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms if such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, flood, fire, earthquake, epidemic or pandemic, acts of government or regulatory authority, war, civil unrest, terrorism, sabotage, industrial action, internet outages, power failures, or failures of telecommunications networks or infrastructure. In such circumstances, RentVeed's obligations will be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to resume normal service as soon as practicable.
RentVeed reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by: (a) posting an in-app notification; (b) displaying a notice on the Platform; and/or (c) sending an email to the address associated with your account, at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect (or immediately in cases of urgent changes required by law, court order, or for security reasons).
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion as described in Section 12.5. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The date of the most recent revision is displayed at the top of this document.
In addition to the account-specific actions described in Section 12, RentVeed reserves the right to terminate or suspend the Service entirely, or any portion of it, at any time with or without cause, and with or without prior notice. RentVeed shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any termination of your access to the Service. Upon any termination of the Service, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall do so, including without limitation provisions relating to ownership of intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies or supplemental terms incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and RentVeed with respect to the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, representations, and warranties between the parties relating to the Service.
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms, without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
RentVeed's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms in any instance shall not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that right or provision in the future. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of RentVeed to be effective.
You may not assign, transfer, delegate, or sublicense any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without RentVeed's prior written consent. Any purported assignment in violation of this provision is null and void. RentVeed may freely assign or transfer these Terms and any rights or obligations hereunder (including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or operation of law) without your prior consent and without notice, subject to Applicable Law.
Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or franchise relationship between you and RentVeed. You are an independent user of the Platform and have no authority to act on behalf of RentVeed in any capacity.
RentVeed is an independent contractor providing a technology platform. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship, a landlord-tenant relationship, or any fiduciary relationship between RentVeed and any user.
All notices from you to RentVeed must be sent via email to support@rentveed.com. All notices from RentVeed to you will be delivered via in-app notification, displayed on the Platform, or sent to the email address associated with your account. Notices are effective upon sending (for email) or upon posting (for in-app or Platform notices).
These Terms are provided in English and French. In the event of any inconsistency between the English and French versions, the English version shall prevail. Both versions are available on the Platform. If Applicable Law requires the use of another official language, RentVeed will provide such a version upon request.
RentVeed is committed to making the Service accessible to all users. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the Service or these Terms due to a disability, please contact us at support@rentveed.com and we will make reasonable efforts to assist you.
You agree that electronic signatures, agreements, and communications have the same legal validity and enforceability as written signatures and communications, to the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law.
